Man charged in connection to a Minneapolis murder has pleaded guilty to helping the shooter get away.

Martaveis Lamier Roberts entered a guilty plea petition at his court hearing on Thursday. His sentencing is now set for Aug. 28.

Roberts is charged with murder for helping Ashawn Willis after 23-year-old Hussanee Abdul-Malik Harris was fatally shot at Full Stop gas station on Nov. 25, 2024.

Court documents state that Roberts and Harris were seen arguing on surveillance video, possibly related to a drug dispute, before Roberts drove off. A short time later, Roberts returned and a passenger in his vehicle shot Harris.

Willis was later arrested and charged in connection to the killing as well as another homicide from several months earlier. He was sentenced earlier this month to 18 years in prison for Harris’s death.
