According to Minnetonka Police Department an officer's unoccupied vehicle hit and injured a burglary suspect Monday morning near George Floyd Square in south Minneapolis
At 9:20 a.m. near the 3700 block of Chicago Avenue South in Minneapolis, one of their officers was chasing a burglary suspect on foot.
Police said the officer was working in Minneapolis as part of the Hennepin County Auto Theft Task Force.
After detaining the man, the unoccupied officer’s vehicle struck the suspect, and he sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to Minnetonka police.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) was brought in to investigate.
This investigation is open and active, and there are no further details.
