Man charged with threats of violence

Jessy James Juaire, 29, of Brainerd, allegedly fought his brothers over a go-kart and threatened to stab them before wrestling one to the ground.

On May 31, 2026, at approximately 6:14 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a physical altercation at a residence in Crow Wing Township. Dispatch advised that a caller, identified as a family member, reported that Jessy James Juaire and his brother were actively fighting. Before deputies arrived, the defendant reportedly left the area on a bicycle.

Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the defendant and one of the victims. The victim’s shirt was reportedly stretched around the collar, and he had blood on his nose and under his left eye. According to the complaint, the victim explained that another brother was visiting the residence when the defendant arrived and began yelling about an allegedly stolen go-kart. A physical fight broke out, and the victim physically intervened to stop the altercation.

The defendant allegedly accused the intervening brother of taking sides, He then walked away but continued to shout threats about stealing a truck, burning it, and shooting or stabbing the victim. According to the complaint, the defendant then returned, swung at the victim, and missed. The two wrestled to the ground, which is when the victim believes his eye was struck. The victim’s spouse then called law enforcement.

When speaking with law enforcement, the defendant reportedly admitted to instigating the fight and confirmed the argument over the go-kart. During a search, deputies found a knife on the defendant. After being transported to jail, the defendant provided a statement claiming he has schizophrenia, sometimes blacks out, and did not remember his exact words.
