According to Minnesota State Patrol a Ford Focus was driving southbound when it struck the divider between I-94 and the exit lanes to Lyndale Avenue. After the crash, the driver of the Ford got out of the car and was soon hit by a Tesla.

Drew Vonfisher, of Eden Prairie, died as a result of his injuries.

A 21-year-old driver and 22-year-old passenger were in the Tesla, but they were not injured. Troopers do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the crash.
