A St. Peter neighborhood was put into a shelter-in-place Thursday night after an officer was shot during a law enforcement incident.
That shelter-in-place was lifted just after 10:30 p.m., as authorities said there was no longer a threat to the community.
The Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office issued a shelter-in-place for the Washington Terrace neighborhood in St. Peter due to a law enforcement situation.
The St. Peter Police Department says at about 8 p.m. Thursday, there was an incident involving law enforcement on the 2100 block of Bunker Lane. Authorities say an officer was shot, and was transported to a medical facility. The condition of the officer is unknown.
Law enforcement has not said how the officer was shot or what happened to any potential suspect. There appear to be three bullet holes through the second floor bedroom window, though authorities have not provided any details.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating the use-of-force incident in St. Peter and remains on scene as of Friday morning. Further details have not yet been released.
