Students at Hopkins High School were released early on Monday after the school received a threatening call.
A letter to families from Hopkins school leaders said the main office received a phone call that was interpreted as a potential threat.
The school was put into a secure hold, meaning all classes continue inside classrooms but movement throughout the building is limited and doors are secured.
A short time later, the administration sent out another message reiterating that students and staff are safe but, As a safety precaution, we are releasing students early today at approximately 2 p.m.
Neither police nor the school have indicated what was said over the phone that prompted the additional security measures and early release.
