Motorcycle driver dies after collision with truck

A 53-year-old motorcyclist from Baxter, Minnesota, died after colliding with a truck Thursday morning in Crow Wing County.

The Minnesota State Patrol said the motorcycle was traveling north on Highway 371 shortly before 5 a.m. when it attempted to turn left onto Pine Beach Road. The motorcycle and truck, which were traveling south on Highway 371, crashed in the intersection. Officials say they don't believe alcohol played a factor.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office, Baxter and Brainerd police departments, North Memorial Health Ambulance and Brainerd Fire Department assisted at the scene.
