According to Minneapolis Park Police, a 911 call was made to Minnehaha Falls around 5:13 p.m. when the teenager went missing while swimming near the base of the falls.
First responders located the boy underwater and brought him to the surface, where lifesaving measures were performed, including CPR. Minneapolis Fire says he was then driven to an ambulance from a utility vehicle and then transported to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
