Police released images on Monday of a man who they believe hit a pedestrian and left the scene Saturday night in Maplewood.

The crash happened around 9:14 p.m. near the intersection of Rice Street and McCarrons Boulevard. A 37-year-old man was found injured in the road, and he was taken to Regions Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Witnesses said the suspect continued to drive a dark-colored pickup truck after hitting the victim.

A few minutes later, surveillance footage captured a pickup truck matching the suspect vehicle’s description pulling into a Cub Foods at County Road B and Rice Street. The driver briefly went inside the store before leaving.
