Overnight shooting leaves one man dead

Minneapolis Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation after one man was killed in a shooting in south Minneapolis.

The shooting was reported around 1:20 a.m. in the 2100 block of Lyndale Avenue South, where an adult man had sustained life-threatening gunshot injuries.

While the man was provided life-saving measures and taken to the hospital, he was pronounced dead.

Police later learned a second person had been shot in the same incident by a private vehicle and was taken to a different hospital for treatment. That person sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Police bleieve the shooting began in a parking lot where a group of people had gathered and were shot by a separate group.
