On July 24, 2026, at approximately 9:02 P.M the Anoka Police Department, Ramsey Police Department, Anoka-Champlin Fire Department, and Anoka County Sheriff’s Office responded to the train tracks near the 2700 block of Ferry Street in the City of Anoka on the report of a pedestrian hit by a train.

Early information indicates an adult male was struck after attempting to cross in front of an oncoming Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway train. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
