An Eagan police arrest took a turn when a man fired a shot at officers on Saturday morning.
According to the Eagan Police Department, officers responded to a domestic call near the 4400 block of Lynx Court around 6:10 a.m. Authorities said officers were able to contact the people involved outside the home and tried to detain him.
Police said the man actively resisted and refused to follow commands by authorities. As officers worked to detain the man on the ground, he fired a single shot towards authorities.
Chief Salim Omari said no one was struck and officers were able to detain the man after several minutes.
Authorities said the officers involved had minor injuries and were treated on scene. Meanwhile, the suspect also had minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
Eagan police said the man was booked into the Dakota County Jail with pending weapon-related charges.
Police said there is no threat to the public and the investigation is ongoing.
