A man in his 30s is recovering after being shot while standing near a bonfire in Oakdale on Thursday night.

According to Oakdale police, officers responded to a home on the 700 block of Gershwin Avenue around 10:25 p.m. on a report that a person had been shot.

At the scene, law enforcement found a 32-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound to the abdomen; he was brought to the hospital and is currently stable.

The man was standing near a bonfire in the backyard of the residence when he was shot, adding they thought they heard gunfire just before he was injured.

No arrests have been made at this time.
