A Big Lake man has been sentenced in a case involving the nonconsensual sharing and sale of altered sexual images online, with court records describing conduct that used photos taken from a womans social media accounts.

Shane Gallati, 23, of Big Lake was sentenced April 29 in Wright County District Court after pleading guilty to an amended charge of harassment. The conviction stems from a case that initially included felony charges related to the nonconsensual dissemination of private sexual images.

A Wright County deputy responded in August 2025 after a woman reported that someone had taken images from her social media accounts and used editing tools to create sexually explicit versions of those photos.

The images were posted to a Reddit account impersonating the victim, with some content blurred and offered for sale. Investigators later linked the account to Gallati through subpoenaed records, including phone and financial data.

Court documents state that between late July and mid-August 2025, the account generated 72 transactions totaling $1,841.56 from the sale of the altered images.

As part of a plea agreement, Gallati was convicted of a gross misdemeanor offense deemed a misdemeanor under Minnesota law. A related felony charge was dismissed.

?Judge Kari Willis sentenced Gallati to 90 days in jail, with six days to be served and the remainder stayed for one year. He will serve the time in two three-day weekend segments. He was also placed on one year of supervised probation and ordered to have no contact with the victim and to continue therapy.
