Vance Boelter, the man who killed a lawmaker and her husband and injured another lawmaker and his spouse, is set to be sentenced in late July.
On Wednesday, a federal judge set Boelter’s sentencing for July 23 in Minneapolis.
Boelter pleaded guilty to the murders of Melissa and Mark Hortman and the shootings of John and Yvette Hoffman earlier this month.
Under the terms of the plea deal, Boelter is expected to be sentenced to two consecutive life sentences plus 40 years in federal prison. As part of the plea deal, the death penalty is off the table.
During the plea hearing, Boelter admitted to carrying out the attacks against both the Hortmans and Hoffmans, including specific details of what happened.
