Authorities are investigating a head-on crash on northbound Highway 61 in White Bear Township.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, state troopers responded to a report of a crash around 12:59 a.m. on Saturday.

A Honda CRV was traveling northbound and a Toyota RAV4 was traveling southbound on Highway 61 when a head-on crash happened near Aspen Lane.

Both drivers were taken to a hospital for suspected serious injuries, authorities note.

The driver of the Toyota, a 25-year-old woman from Hugo, was first placed under arrest for suspicion of DWI but released from custody to receive medical treatment. Pending blood results, she could be facing DWI charges, officials say.
