A freight train transporting automobiles derailed Saturday afternoon in downtown near Petco Park.

Three rail cars derailed near the intersection of Harbor Drive and Switzer Street around 4 p.m., damaging a pillar of the Harbor Drive bridge in San Diego.

There were no injuries or hazardous materials involved, said Lena Kent, spokesperson for freight railroad network BNSF Railway.

Cleanup continued into Sunday, and Harbor Drive has been closed to traffic between Park Boulevard and Beardsley Street.

BNSF said it is investigating the cause of the derailment.
