A man was found dead inside a home in Lino Lakes that caused two schools to be placed into lockdown on Thursday afternoon.

Several law enforcement agencies were called to the 7100 block of Snow Owl Lane — just west of Lake Drive and south of Interstate 35W - just before 12:30 p.m.

As a precaution, law enforcement urged two nearby schools to be placed into a soft lockdown.

The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office says when law enforcement got to the scene, they contacted a person at the home and a gunshot was heard. Officers were able to get one person out of the home wihtout injury and say no other victims were inside.

However, SWAT was called and, later in the afternoon, officers found a man’s body with an apparent gunshot wound inside the home.

The incident remains under investigation, police say, and the sheriff’s office says it isn’t sharing any more information at this time.
