A violent collision between a Jeep Cherokee and a semi-truck flipped the SUV onto its roof in the middle of the Highway 25 and Fourth Street intersection Thursday afternoon, sending two people to the hospital.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash occurred at 4:47 p.m. July 2 when a northbound 2020 Kenworth semi collided with a southbound 2017 Jeep Cherokee as the SUV attempted to turn east onto Fourth Street.

The impact left the Jeep upside down in the middle of the intersection, scattering debris across several lanes of traffic.

Emergency responders from the Wright County Sheriff's Office and CentraCare EMS responded to the scene, temporarily closing the intersection while crews assisted those involved and cleared the wreckage.

The Jeep's driver, Jade Cheneau, 34, of Albertville, and passenger Eddrick Richardson, 34, of St. Anthony, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Mercy Hospital. Both were wearing seat belts, according to the State Patrol, and the Jeep's airbags deployed.

The semi driver, Michael Wigton, 56, of Isanti, was not injured. He also was wearing a seat belt.
