A Big Lake man is facing a felony assault charge after authorities allege he beat his adult son during an argument, dragged him alongside a vehicle and drove away after running over his arm.

Brady Cramer, 55 of Big Lake was charged June 4 in Sherburne County District Court with one felony count of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, two gross misdemeanor counts of criminal vehicular operation and leaving the scene of an injury crash, and one misdemeanor count of domestic assault.

Big Lake Police Officers located the man, identified in the complaint as Cramer’s son. He told police he and his father had been arguing while Cramer was driving. The complaint alleges Cramer pulled over, struck his son several times and attempted to force him from the vehicle.

Officers observed blood covering the victim’s face and injuries to his head, face, arms, hands, knees, legs and feet. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Cramer told police the two argued after his son attacked him. He claimed his son pulled a knife, that he disarmed him and the two fought in a ditch after he removed him from the vehicle.

Multiple witnesses gave similar accounts to investigators, according to the complaint. One witness said the two men were beating the shit out of each other before seeing one throw the other into a ditch.

The witness said the injured man then grabbed the passenger door as the vehicle drove away and was dragged until he fell. Another witness reported seeing the vehicle run over the man’s right arm near his chest after he again tried to grab onto the vehicle.

According to Police the victim was dragged approximately 50 to 100 feet.
