The crash caused officials to close southbound lanes of the highway between Marschall Road and Marystown Road as crews worked to clear the crash site.

Accroding to Minnesota State Patrol the crash happened shortly before 8 a.m. when a northbound Ford Taurus crossed the median and into oncoming traffic. The Taurus hit the trailer of a semi-truck before a Ford F150 pickup crashed into the passenger side of the sedan.

The drier of the Taurus was pronounced dead at the scene.

An ambulance took the driver of the F150, an 18-year-old Shakopee man, to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment. The semi driver was unharmed.
