Zumbrota Police are investigating after a fleeing vehicle crashed into the Zumbro River on Friday night.
Zumbrota Police say officers responded to a report of a pickup truck crashing into other vehicles while traveling southbound on Highway 52 from Highway 57 just before midnight on Friday.
Upon arrival, law enforcement located the pickup truck and attempted to make a traffic stop on Highway 52 at Sherwood Trail. Authorities say the pickup truck then fled south, eventually entering the grassy median and becoming stuck in the North Fork of the Zumbro River.
Officials say they took the driver, a 31-year-old man from La Crosse, Wisconsin, into custody. Authorities note the man was not injured.
He was booked into Goodhue County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, fleeing from law enforcement in a motor vehicle, possession of a firearm under the influence of alcohol, and hit-and-run, according to a press release.
