On Monday at 1:49 p.m., Chisago County officials received a report of a crash between a motorcycle and car near Rush Point Drive and Fairfield Avenue in Rush City. Authorities said that the motorcycle struck the back of the car.

The motorcycle driver, identified as 18-year-old Nathaniel L. Johnson from Elk River, was brought to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.

According to the sheriff’s office, Johnson was wearing his helmet at the time of the crash, and drugs and alcohol are not suspected to have been factors.

The driver of the car stayed on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
