On Thursday, Kireice Plez-Sanchez Williams learned he will spend more than 28 years in prison in connection with a deadly shooting in 2025.
At his sentencing, he was granted credit for 255 days served behind bars already.
Williams was charged with and pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree murder.
Saint Paul police responded to a home on the 300 block of Edmund Avenue for a shooting in the early hours of Aug. 16, 2025, on a report of a shooting. They found 26-year-old Levon T. Washington with a gunshot wound to his neck and an exit wound in his back, A spent 9mm casing was found nearby.
Washington was brought to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
One of Washington’s friends told police that she saw Williams fire a shot at Washington before leaving. A second witness also identified the shooter as Williams.
Williams was supposed to meet with his probation officer after the shooting, but called her with excuses as to why he couldn’t make it.
At the time of the murder, Williams was pending trial for two cases: conspiracy to commit first-degree aggravated robbery and a case relating to a drive-by shooting.
